The paper discusses the challenges met by Chinese periodicals, especially Chinese sci tech periodicals, after China's entry into WTO, including the aspects of market, persons of ability, business administration model, fund, etc. The paper also expounds the opportunities brought by WTO to the Chinese sci tech periodicals, including marketization of publishing actionds, modernization of press means, integration of press resources. The countermeasures that Chinese periodicals should take are deepening the understanding, changing the ideas, reform and innovation, respecting knowledge and talented people, making use of advantages, fostering famous brand periodicals, and promoting competition power.
