Trace Element Se and Breeding of the Giant Panda

大熊猫卵巢囊肿,生长滤泡闭锁黄体化及雄性大熊猫性欲低下,严重影响了大熊猫的繁殖.其原因很复杂,可能与微量元素硒(Se)的缺乏有关.

In this paper, the author compares giant panda with som domestic animals, pointing out the there are many similarities between them in the case of the reproductive capacity obstacle which was caused by lacking trace element Se. The results show that reduction of prolificition of giant panda has something to do with its lacking Se in its body. The author proposes that we should add adequate Se to the everyday food of the giant panda.
