全球化背景下外国文学教学与研究的精神导向

Guiding principle for teaching of and research in foreign literature in the context of globalization

中国的现代化是在全球化背景下进行的。而中国文化重群体而轻个体的精神传统与全球化尊重个体的价值与尊严即重个体自由的精神实质颇有差异。中国要适应全球化,实现现代化,就必须借鉴西方文化重个体自由的文化精神以革新中国文化重群体而轻个体的精神传统的弊端。中国的外国文学教学与研究是为现代化服务的,所以必须遵循如下的基本精神导向:有分析地吸收优秀外国文学所体现的重个体自由的精神以革新中国文化重群体而轻个体的精神传统的弊端。

The modernization of China is being carried out in the context of globalization. The Chinese traditional culture values the interest of the group but often overlooks, that of the individual, which differs tremendously from the value system of globalization that respects the individuals value and freedom. In order to achieve its goal of modernization and adapt itself to the trend of globalization, China should learn critically from the western values of respecting the interest of the individual. Teaching of and research in foreign literature is to serve the modernization process. Therefore, it should absorb analytically the spirit, represented in the western literary works, of respecting the value and interest of the individual and contribute to reforming the Chinese traditional culture's disadvantage of overlooking the value and freedom of the individual.
