The batik flag is an artwork of the Miao people symbolizing an offering for the spirit of the dead. The decorative patterns are different because of the different features of heritage of the batik makers and their different art attainment. However, the contents of the patterns are mostly maple leaves, butterflies, birds, centipedes, dragons and the portrait of Gongshipo (the primogenitor of the Miao people). This shows that the Miao ancestors paid more attention to the consciousness of lives and shows their hopes for the multiply of lives and the flourish of the nationality.
