On the Architecture of Traditional Local-Style Dwelling Houses in Zhoushan

现存舟山传统民居可分清代早期、中期与清末、民国两个时期,各有代表性建筑,其风格与大陆民居各有异同,这与舟山历史、经济及地理气候等原因有关。

The existing traditional local-style dwelling houses in Zhoushan ca n be classified as the ones built in the early and middle Qing Dynasty and the o nes built in the late years of Qing Dynasty and during the time of the Republic of China. There are representative houses at each stage. And there are some simi larities and differences in architectural style between Zhoushan local-style dw elling houses and the ones in China's mainland, which has something to do with h istory, the economy, geography and climate in Zhoushan.
