《溪蛮丛笑》一书为南宋中后期人朱辅所著 ,是书以条目体例形式记述了公元 12世纪沅江流域各民族的风俗习惯、土产方物、文物古迹 ,是研究南宋中后期民族关系和五溪地区少数民族科学技术、风俗习惯、社会组织和历史语言的珍贵资料 ,具有其他典籍不可替代的特殊价值。

Written by Zhu Fu in the middle and later period of the Sorthern Song Dynasty,the book Xi Man Cong Xiao records in the form of entries the costoms,local products and cultural relics of the minority peoples along in the Yuanjiang River valley during the 12th century. The book may be considered as a precious document with special values to the research of the ethnic relations and the science and technology,customs,social organizations and historical languages of the minority peoples living in Wu Xi in the middle and late Sorthern Song Dynasty.
