Mao Zedong insisted on One-China principle, unswervingly opposed “Two-China” conspiracy planned by the United States and he considered that Taiwan Question could be resolved by two means, i.e. forceful liberation or peaceful liberation. Mao Zedong's thoughts of liberating Taiwan peacefully had profound and lasting effect on the process of the reunification of China.
