Design of Intelligent Traffic Light System

随着中国的老年人口数量持续增加,人口老龄化程度持续加深,老年人出行的交通安全越来越引起关注。道路交通路口是人们出行的必经之地,但现有路口的大部分红绿灯控制系统不能保证老年人能够安全通过路口。设计了一个新型的智慧红绿灯系统,在车流量较小、行人较多的非主干路口(如居住小区、医院、中小学幼儿园等附近的路口),除正常变换红绿灯时间外,还能够根据通行情况适当延长红绿灯通行时间,保证老人等安全通行;结合闯红灯报警及语音提醒功能,保障了路口的通行安全。

As the number of elderly people in China continuously increases and the aging population continuously exacerbate,the traffic safety of elderly people is attracting more and more attention. Road traffic intersection is an inevitable place for people to go out,but most existing traffic control systems at intersections do not guarantee that the elderly people can safely pass through the road intersection. This paper designs a new type of intelligent traffic light system, which,in addition to normal traffic light function,is able to properly extend the passing time according to the traffic situation to ensure that elderly people can passing through the road safely at non-trunk intersections with relatively small traffic flows and pedestrians ( such as intersection near residential quarters,hospitals,kindergartens and elementary and middle schools) . The new system also combines with the red-light alarm and voice reminder function,in order to ensure the safety of the traffic at the intersection.
