On the Ellipsis of Some Elements in Possessive Noun Phrases in Both English and Chinese

英汉领属关系类名词短语都有成分缺省现象,在分析这些现象的基础上,试图发现缺省以及英汉语中此类短语存在不同缺省的相同和不同原因。

Ellipsis of some elements in possessive noun phrases is common in both Chinese and English. Based on the classification of this phenomenon, this paper makes effort to clarify the causes of these ellipses and the causes of their similarities and differences in Chinese and English possessive noun phrases as well.
