玉玦最初的用途并非珥、珰类耳饰,亦非环、瑗类佩件,而是原始的射箭勾弦用具,但其造型和用法又不同于殷商出现的玉韘。

A jade Jue was neither the ornament for ear,such as the earring-like Er or Dang,nor clothing ornament such as Huan or Yuan.Instead,it was originally used for ancient weapons of archery,a tool for bow string.It was different in shape and function from the jade Die predominant in dynasty of Shang.
