浅析英文合同文本特点及翻译策略

A Brief Survey of English Contract Text Features and Translation Strategies

合同是一种非常严谨的文体,在众多商务活动中起着重要作用。中文合同与英文合同存在非常大的差别,在英译时应考虑到制式、篇章结构、相关行业术语、法律用语和句式等的转换。文章在分析英文合同文本特点的基础上,提出针对中文合同的英译策略,给从事或学习法律翻译的人士借鉴。

The contract is very serious and plays an important role in many business activities. There are great differences between Chinese and English contracts. The format, structure of the text, the terminology of the relevant industry, the legal language and the sentence patterns should be taken into account when it is translated into English. Based on the analysis of the language features of English contracts, this paper proposes an English translation strategy for Chinese contracts, which can be used for reference by those who engage in or study legal translation.
