Secessionism and Language Problems

语言作为人类最重要的交际工具和民族认同标志之一,与国家主权、领土完整、民族和谐息息相关。在严重影响国家安全的分裂主义活动中,语言与民族型分裂主义的关系最为密切。本文结合四个与语言高度相关的分裂主义活动案例,展现了语言与国家安全的关系,探讨其背后的理论依据、不同类型语言政策的政治哲学基础,并就此提出在我国的语言政策制定中应注意把握的几个关系。

Language,one of the most important communication tools and identity symbols,is closely associated with territory integrity and harmonious coexistence of ethnic groups.It plays a crucial role in separatist movements severely undermining national security.This paper,through an analysis of four separatist movement cases,discusses the relationship between language and national security,the theoretical background behind this relationship,and the political-philosophical basis of different types of language policies,and finally presents several issues that should be taken into consideration in China’s language policy making.
