A Review of the 20th Century American Language Education Standards Movement

国家教育标准是国家政治决策的一个重要部分,本论文主要介绍20世纪美国语言教育标准化运动。首先提出美国语言教育标准化运动的背景,然后介绍20世纪美国语言教育标准化运动的发展过程。通过对20世纪美国语言教育标准化运动的梳理可以看出一系列教育标准的制定挽救了美国教育危机,颠覆了人们传统的语言教育和学习理念,推动了美国语言教育向前发展,也为我国制定外语教育的'国标'提供了有益参考。

This paper reviews the American language education standards movement in the 20th century.It begins with an overview of the background of the language education standards movement,and proceeds to discuss its development,focusing on the subsequent number of educational standards proposed and publicized.It is believed that these succeeding standards helped to save the country from educational crises,alter people's traditional views on language teaching and learning,and promote the advancement of American language education.It is argued that the 20th century standards movement of American language education will serve as a useful reference for developing China's national standards for foreign language education.
