Ecology and environmental protection:jointly building a green Silk Road

在中国参加完防沙治沙国际培训班后,来自埃及开罗的园艺研究所研究员纳希德·沙耶卜给自己设定了一个计划:把中国的节水梯田种植模式'搬到'西奈半岛山区,以这种方式在当地荒漠涵养水源、防止水土流失。目前,她的愿望已逐步变成现实,埃及农业部正在研究她提交的西奈半岛梯田方案。

Having been trained in an international workshop on desertification prevention and control in China,Nasheed Shayeb,a researcher from the Horticulture Research Institute,Cairo,Egypt,worked out a plan to“copy”China’s cropping pattern of water-saving terraces to mountainous areas of the Sinai Peninsula for water conservation and prevention of soil erosion in local deserts.Presently,the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Egypt is studying her plan of building terraces in the Sinai Peninsula,gradually turning her vision into reality.
