An Analysis of the Present US- Indian Security Cooperation and It's Prospects

冷战的结束消除了美印安全关系发展的最大障碍。但只是进入21世纪后,伴随着两国之间关系的急剧升温,美印安全合作的时代才真正到来。美印安全合作的深入发展主要体现在防务合作关系的推进,以及双方在反恐及海上安全两大关键领域取得的重要突破。美印在安全利益理解方面达成的基本共识是美印安全合作的重要动因。但是,在经历了近些年的快速发展期后,美印安全关系的进一步发展也面临着诸如互信不足、安全认知差异、具体合作领域的现实障碍以及亚洲地缘政治结构等因素的制约。

The end of the Cold War has eliminated the greatest barrier in the development of US- Indian security relation. However,it is only after the beginning of the 21 st century that the era of US- Indian security cooperation truly emerges with the rapid warming- up of the relation between the two countries. The in- depth development of the security cooperation between the US and India is mainly demonstrated by the progress made in the defense cooperative relations,and the major breakthroughs in the two key areas of anti- terrorism and maritime security. The basic consensus that US and India have achieved in understanding the security interest is the main motivation behind the US- Indian security cooperation. However,after the rapid development in recent years,the further development of the US- Indian security relation is also faced with the problems of insufficient mutual trust,divergence in the security perception,the realistic barrier in the specific area of cooperation,as well as the constraint of the geopolitical structure of Asia.
