In the light of the heavy crude thermal recovery oil fields in China be-ing confronted with produced water treatment,a problem difficult to solve,wide,deep and overall investigation and study have been done with the treatment processes of pro-duced water from heavy crude thermal recovery both foreign and dOmestic.This paper treats of various softening technologies and treating methods of produced water from thermal recovery used as steam injection boiler feed water
