Characteristics of Health Seeking Behaviors Among High-Risk People With STD in Huaian City

目的了解和掌握性病高危人群求医行为特征,为相关部门制定引导患者形成正确求医行为的对策提供依据。方法采用定性与定量调查相结合的方法,结合本市各相应HIV/STD哨点的不同人群监测资料,选择性病门诊就诊者、暗娼(FSW)、男男同性恋(MSM)人群3类性病高危人群进行调查,并选择市区3家社区药店相关人员进行调查,综合分析3类人群不当求医行为的特征。结果 92%的MSM人群选择性病专科医院或公立医疗机构就诊,52.5%的性病门诊患者选择民营医疗机构就诊,30.5%的暗娼选择私人诊所就诊或自行到药店购药。药店可疑性病患者数量逐年减少,以男性患者为主,淋病较多,梅毒少见。结论结合访谈资料及定量研究结果,3类高危人群的正确求医比例较低,性别、文化程度和疾病认知水平是影响其正确求医行为的主要原因,引导性病高危人群采取正确就医行为是预防和控制性病的关键。

Objective To understand and master the characteristics of improper health seeking behaviors among high-risk people with sexually transmitted diseases(STD),to seek targeted intervention strategies and measures for this particular group and guide them to correct improper health seeking behaviors.MethodsBy using the combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods and with the corresponding sentinel surveillance data of HIV/AIDS in different populations taken into account,an investigation was conducted in outpatients with sexually transmitted diseases,female sex workers(FSW),and men who have sex with men(MSM)and also personnel from three community drugstores.Characteristics factors of improper health seeking behaviors were analyzed.Results92%of MSM people chose to visit specialty hospitals of venereal diseases or public medical institutions for medical treatment,52.5% of STD outpatients chose to visit private medical institutions,and 30.5%of FSW people chose to visit private clinics for treatment or bought drugs from drugstores at their own decisions.The number of patients with suspected STD patients decreased year by year,and male patients accounted for the majority.The number of gonorrhea cases was greater than that of syphilis cases.Conclusion The proportions of people with correct medical service seeking behaviors are low in the three populations.The major factors influencing regularly seeking medical service behaviors include gender,educational level,and cognition of the disease.Guiding high-risk people with sexually transmitted diseases to seek medical service correctly is critical for prevention and control of the disease.
