Creation Society is one of the most important literary societies in China in the 1920 s.The early Creation Society is characterized by its translation of Romantic literature since its early members translated a series of Romantic literature including poetry, novels and fairy tales, and introduced such important literary thoughts as Romanticism to China. This paper aims to find out the reasons for the translation of Romantic literature by the early Creation Society with Creation Quarterly,Creation Weekly and Creation Daily as well as fourteen translations of the early Creation Society as the subjects.Since the early Creation Society members lived in Japan for a long time with depressed moods, the Romanticism literature which advocates individual freedom was likely to be favored by them.In addition, their resonances with the writers of Romanticism also prompted them to translate the Romantic literature.
