My Opinion on the Expression of "Top-One Medical Master" of Zhang Taiyan

从章太炎自喻"医学第一"的文献来源进行分析,考证章太炎医学的历史贡献、学术特点及与其学术体系的关系等,认为章太炎的医学长于医理而弱于实践,以深厚的国学功底为基础,又体现了重视实证的科学精神,且能放眼看世界,冷静剖析中西医学各自利弊,融会贯通。章太炎对中医发展有总结、质疑、指引的历史功绩。对于"医学第一"的说法,应该用辩证的、历史的眼光去看待。

Tracing back to the source of 'top-one medical master' expression of Zhang Taiyan, making textual criticism on his historical contribution, academic characteristics, and its correlation with his academic system, it comes to the conclusion that, Zhang Taiyan’s medical theory is better than his practice. Based on his profound knowledge of Chinese studies, he embodies the scientific spirit of attaching importance to positivism. He can analyze the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese and western medicine calmly with broad vision, and combine Chinese and western medicine. Zhang Taiyan has a historical merit of summarizing, questioning and guiding the development of traditional Chinese medicine. The statement of 'top-one medical master' should be viewed from a dialectical and historical perspective.
