改革开放以来,我国留学生教育事业突飞猛进,但是发展很不平衡。广东省留学生教育的发展远远落后于京津沪等地,而广东地方高校由于生源不稳定,留学生教育更是普遍处于低效益或亏本运行状态。只有发挥自身优势,扬长避短,开拓生源,才能促进广东地方高校留学生事业的发展。
