Enhance Consensus in Hong Kong via Economic Development and Livelihood Improvement

回归后,香港经济经受了多次外部冲击,保持了经济稳定和增长,但是由于社会缺乏经济发展的共识和合力,政府缺乏促进产业升级的能力和手段,错失了发展知识经济的良机。近几年政改引发的政治争拗,更是拖累了香港的经济增长和民生改善,削弱了香港的经济地位。香港政改被否决后,各方需放下政治分歧,重启对话,聚焦香港经济民生问题,借助国家发展战略提升香港国际竞争力。

After its return to China, Hong Kong has withstood several external shocks and maintained economic stability and growth. However, because of the lack of social consensus and efficient means to promote industrial upgrading by the government, Hong Kong missed the opportunity of developing the knowledge economy. Continuous political disputes have hurt economic growth and livelihood in Hong Kong and weakened its economic status in the world. After the failure of constitutional reform, people from different backgrounds in Hong Kong should lay down political disagreements and restart dialogues, focusing on economic and social issues, in order to enhance Hong Kong 's international competitiveness along with the mainland 's national development strategies.
