香港的经济优势与劣势建基于其四大独特性:全球资本主义体系中最自由开放的经济体制、中西商业文明结合的跨国网络、亲资本的政商关系形成的营商环境、中国因素中、体制之外的城市。随着内地经济日益走向开放,香港经济优势目前主要集中在香港的"软件"基础设施与"软实力":即高端的专业性服务业,或称全球先进的生产性服务业与国际金融中心。与此同时,对外市场的竞争力与内部市场的垄断性,对外经济要素、资源的高度流动与内部阶层的凝固性,对外经济的高收益与内部经济的低效率及缺乏活力与创造力,等等,则是香港潜在劣势的表现。目前香港已经进入优势与劣势同时凸显的阶段,如何重振优势,消除劣势,是香港面对的一个重大挑战。

Hong kong's economic advantages and disadvantages are based on its four unique characteristics: the most open and free economic system in the global capitalist system, transnational networks combined with Chinese and western commercial civilisation, the business environment characterised by the pro-capital political-business relationship, city of Chinese factors, outside the system. As wider opening-up of China's economy, Hong Kong's economic advantages are now mainly concentrated in'software'infrastructure and'soft power': global leading producer services and international financial centre. Meanwhile, the competitiveness of the external market and the monopoly of the internal market;the high flow of external economic factors and the solidification of the inner stratums; high bebifits of foreign economy and low efficiency of internal economy and a lack of vigor and creativity, which are the representation of Hong Kong's potential weakness. There is no denying that Hong Kong has entered the stage of coexistence of advantages and disadvantages. It is significant for Hong Kong to rethink the way to restrengthen the advantages and minimise the disadvantages.
