A Phonetic Comparison of Huabu Dialect Island in Kaihua County and Its Surrounding Dialects

华埠土官话是浙皖赣边界的一个方言岛,它既有官话特点,又有吴语、徽语等周围方言的特点。文章通过华埠土官话与周围众多方言的语音比较,考察方言岛的语言接触情况,并对其历史来源及形成进行推测,最后通过它与吴语、徽语及官话特点的比较,探讨其系属。

The Huabu dialect is a dialect island located at the boundaries of the three provinces Zhejiang,Anhui and Jiangxi.Its phonetic features are similar to both Mandarin and several southern dialects such as the Wu and Hui dialects.By comparing the dialect island with the surrounding dialects,this article examines the language contact and presumes that the dialect island may have the same origin as another two dialect islands nearby.Finally it is pointed out that the nature of the Huabu dialect is a mixture of both Mandarin and southern dialects.
