In the last few decades of the Qing Dynasty,Southeast Asian newspapers written in Chinese became the battlefield of argument between the revolutionaries and the royalists. Both of them presented their stance in their newspapers. The Qing's consulate in Singapore, was inevitably involved in the discussion. Zuo Binglong, which had a longest tenure as the Qing's consulate in Singapore, was active in many newspapers. This paper, taking Singapore Chinese Morning Post as an example, shows the image of Zuo Binglong in the revolutionaries' newspaper and to discuss the changes of public opinion of the Overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia over time.
