作为中国近代著名政治人物和报刊活动家,戴季陶亲自参与了不少报刊的创办、主持了许多报纸的笔政,在各种报刊上发表过许多时事言论与政论文章,并展开过众多报刊活动和拥有大量的报刊实践,因而具有丰富而深邃的报刊思想。戴氏的报刊编辑思想集中体现在:报纸性质及现今不发达原因;倡导民众多去读报;讲究阅报方法;文字宜用白话;注重文章趣味性。

Dai ji-tao,who was one of the most important characters of modern politics and newspaper activities in The Republic of China. He had participated in many newspapers' founding and operating,and also wrote and published many political articles. His news thoughts or press theory were mainly focus on those aspects: The nature of the newspaper and the key cause of the underdevelopment; Pay attention to reading methods; Advocating and leading people to wide read as many as possible; Newspapers and periodicals should be written in vernacular; Increasing newspaper interests for the purpose of attracting readers.
