韩愈《送孟东野序》“不懈”注解平议

Discussion on the Annotations of the words “Bu Xie(不懈)” in the Preface of farewelling Meng Dongye of Han Yu

目前而言,诸家对韩愈《送孟东野序》中'不懈'二字有两种不同的注解:'无懈可击'和'不懈地努力'。通过对'不懈'在历史文献中的用法进行语境分析,以及对孟郊诗歌创作特征进行解读,文中'不懈'的结构应为两个单音节词,即是副词'不'表否定加谓词'懈',为'不懈怠'之义,在文中应作'不懈地努力'解。将'不懈'注解为'无懈可击',不仅没有语词用法上的依据,而且也体现不出韩愈对孟郊'苦吟'诗人创作经历的深切认同及形象书写。

We find there are two different kinds of annotations made by different annotators towards the words'Bu Xie(不懈)'in the Preface of farewelling Meng Dongye of Han Yu.One knd is'perfect'and the other is'unremitting'.This essay is intended to make a further study of the meaning and the usage of the words'Bu Xie(不懈)'from summing up the past usages of this combination.We hold that the word'Bu(不)'is an adverb that represents a negative meaning while the word'Xie(懈)'is a predicate means slack.The first annotation not only does it not conform to the usual usage of people in the past,but it also does not accord with Han Yu’s original intention.
