The Affectionate Paintings:On Shen Congwen’s Letters in His Later Years

1949年之后,在服饰文物研究之外,沈从文成了'书简家',主要通过书信找到了舒缓情绪、展现自我的方式,这是他在政治风云中得以抒情并保持人性力量的重要私人渠道。书信也是沈从文文学人生之'美学与哲学'的重要体现,概而言之便是:以从容与静观的姿态,刻绘出一幅幅'有情''有艺'之画,处处散发出'柔和'的心性之美。

Shen Congwen became a letter writer after 1949.In addition to the research on traditional Chinese clothes and cultural relics,he wrote a lot of letters to express himself and soothe his emotions.Letter writing is the most important channel for him to maintain the strength of human nature in the period of political movements.Letters also embody Shen’s 'aesthetics and philosophy'as a literary writer.To put it in general,Shen portrays'affectionate and artful'paintings in his letters in all the calmness and contemplation so that the letters emit'tender'beauty of his soul everywhere.
