Into the Complex Soul:Features of Su Manshu Biography

苏曼殊是清末民初文化人物中一个特殊的存在,他多情神秘的一生吸引了无数研究者为其作传,到目前为止,已有三十多部传记问世。本文着重梳理百年来苏曼殊传记的写作状况,并结合文本对传记作者的'实录'精神和艺术表现进行细致分析,在肯定苏曼殊传记写作成就的同时,也指出了苏曼殊传记创作中存在的不足之处。

Su Manshu is a special cultural figure in the late Qing Dynasty in China and the early Republic an period.His passionate and mysterious life has attracted countless researchers to the extent that there are more than 30 biographies published so far.This paper surveys Su Manshu biography in the past 100 years and explores the 'truth-seeking'spirits and the art of life writing in those biographies.While affirming the contributions of Su Manshu biographies the paper also points out their defects.
