Argument Structure, Lexical Decomposition, and Light Verb Syntax

本文对词义分解和轻动词句法理论的背景与现状进行了回顾,重点讨论几个中英文文献的研究成果。这些成果有助于我们理解单形谓语(simplex predicates)、词序和句法成分的复杂属性,施用(applicative)论元和非常规论元的句法位置,副词性修饰语的辖域以及词汇语义和句法结构间的映射。本文最后对汉语中词内(sublexical)层级的副词的修饰现象及其恰当解读的推导问题做了初步的讨论。

This paper provides a review of the background and recent developments in the theory of lexical decomposition and light verb syntax,highlighting the results of some works(in English and Chinese)that have aided our understanding of the complex nature of simplex predicates,word order and syntactic constituency,the position of applicative and non-canonical arguments,the scope of adverbial modification,and the mapping between lexical semantics and syntactic structure.The final section includes some preliminary remarks on sub-lexical modification by adverbs in Chinese and the problem of deriving the appropriate readings.
