《穆斯林的葬礼》英译中习语创造性叛逆研究

The creative treason of idiom translation in the English version of Jade King

基于《穆斯林的葬礼》汉英平行语料库,本研究以译文中的习语创造性叛逆为切入点,考察译者个性化翻译所运用的具体翻译策略及其特征。研究发现,译者英译习语时主要通过意译、省译、借译及直译等四种翻译策略实现创造性叛逆翻译。这主要是由译者的个人翻译动机以及为实现目的语读者的期待而形成的。

Based on the Chinese-English Parallel Corpus of Jade King,this paper starts from the translators’creative treason and focuses on idiom translation.Specific translation strategies and their characteristics used by the translators in their translation were studied.The result shows that the translators present'domesticating'and'foreignization'in the process of idiom translation.They achieve creative treason translation mainly through four translation strategies:free translation,omission,loan translation and literal translation.This result is mainly caused by the translators’personal translation motivation and the target language reader’s expectations.
