摘要
测量系统主要特点是采用石榴石单晶薄膜磁光调制器,对偏振光进行调制,再经选频放大,明显地提高了测量系统的灵敏度。装置简单,操作方便。读数精度±0.005(deg).系统误差≤±3%。
Single crystal thin films of ReIG were grown on Gd_3Ga_5O_(12) (GGG) substrates by liquid phase epitaxy. Thickness of films is in the range of 1 to 20μm.In such films the Faraday rotation is small. In this paper a simple method is proposed for the measurement of the Faraday rotation of garnet single crystal thin films.A magneto-optic modulator of garnet single crystal thin films is used. The magnetooptic modulator change the photo-electric signal from D. C to 1000 Hz A. C, so the A. C signal can be amplified, and the sensitivity and accuracy increase conspicuously. The measuring installation of this method is simple, the angles of the analyser were measured with an accuracy of 0.005 (deg) and systematic error≤±3%.
