A new system aided by microcomputer has been developed which can be usedfor measuring the roundness,giving the evaluation results and the chart.automatically.Its work principles,characteristies of the software and circuit of input and output partsare presented.The precision of the system has been examined by different methods and alot of tests.The mathematical models of roundness are expressed as minimax problem and the modi-fied BFGS variable metric algorithms of optimization were applied to solve the minimaxproblem successfully.
