夏侯湛是西晋时期著名的文学家,夏侯湛的生平与文学成就与其家世密不可分。西晋初期的夏侯氏家族在当时的政治舞台上相当活跃,其成员仕履遍及自中央大员到地方州郡长官的各个角落;在婚姻上,他们与当时炙手可热的河内司马氏、泰山羊氏、琅琊王氏这些名门望族结为亲家;在文化上则由曹魏时期雄居乡里以武风见长的豪强转化为以学术修养而为世所重的士族。

Xiahou Zhan was a famous litterateur of Western Jin Dynasty,whose life and literature achievement were closed connected with his family.Xiahou family was very active and influential in the political area in the early Western Jin Dynasty,with many family members hosting official positions in central and local governments.They set up marital relations with then famous families,such as,Sima Family,Yang Family,Wang Family.And in culture they paid more attention to scholar cultivation.
