武当武术是中华民族传统武术的一大流派和重要组成部分,为国家级非物质文化遗产,是内家拳的代表.虽然武当武术的发展经历了700年,但从中国武术主要拳种分布及湖北板块分布图中未见到文字标注,《中国大百科全书·体育》和《中国武术拳械录》目录中也未见有记载.从武当武术的挖掘整理到研究成果,经过20余年的努力,武当武术拳械基本框架成型.根据共性归合,特性区分的基本原则,采用合流分支法、分形合技法、类别法、竞赛表演等四种分类方法,武当武术按其内容主要分为七类.

Wudang Boxing is one of the main schools and the important components of traditional Chinese martial arts,national intangible cultural heritage and the represent of internal school boxing.Though Wudang Boxing has had700-years development,there is no record in the main literature and boxing distribution.20years' collecting and research has made Wudang Boxing apparatus have a complete system.Based on the basic principles of grouping similarities and distinguishing differences and four classifying methods,Wudang Boxing has been classified into seven kinds in accordance with its contents.
