This paper introduced the development and application prospect of hydraulic shovel and mechanical shovel.The focus of comparative analysis was the differences of two domestic PC5500 hydraulic shovels and WK-27 mechanical shovel in basic capacity,operating range and performance,effective digging power and practical application,which provided a basis for the equipment purchase of other open pit mines.
