My Humble Opinion of “Useless” Design Concept and Characteristics

无用设计是一种新的设计理念,它汇集整合了设计师对于设计创造价值的探索,它提倡设计将无用转化为有用,创造出新价值,并赋予产品意义,进而影响消费者对价值的认知,创造一个环保的、可持续的未来。文章介绍了无用设计理念,挖掘无用设计的思想渊源,进而通过对具体产品进行分析的基础上,提出无用设计理念的特征:价值性、环保性、可持续性和手工艺性。

Useless design is a kind of new design concept which is collected designers’ exploration of design creates value. It advocates design transform useless into useful and then create new value and give products significance. Proceed to the next step, useless design influences consumers’ awareness of value and wants to create a environmental and sustainable future. This paper introduces the concept of useless design and digs the thought origin of it. Then the author put forward the useless design characteristics: value, environmental, sustainable and manufacturability on the basis of analysis the specific products.
