On a high-speed train dashing across the vast green grassland,we headed southwest from Tashkent,capital of Uzbekistan,to the Central Asian city of Bukhara,an important node on the ancient Silk Road that has witnessed the prosperity and decline of the ancient trade routes but has now gained new vitality under China’s great Belt and Road Initiative.After more than four hours on the train,we arrived in Bukhara.
