Chinese President Hu Jintao made his first state visit to Russia in May, 2003. The leaders of China and Russia reached extensive consensus on further deepening the good-neighborly friendship and cooperation between the two countries and making common efforts to open up a new prospect for Sino-Russian relations. Thus, a new chapter in the history of development of the Sino-Russian relationship is opened.
