Relations between Murong Xianbei and Gaogouli in the Period of the Jin Dynasty Sixteen Countries

慕容鲜卑与高句丽的关系,从3世纪末的慕容广鬼和烽上王时开始,到5世纪初的慕容熙和广开土王时结束。双方互有攻伐侵扰,又有和平相处。4世纪40年代开始,高句丽一度成为前燕属国。古代辽东地区是双方争夺焦点,慕容鲜卑多居于优势,后燕时失去主动权和控制权。

Relations between Murong Xianbei and Gaogouli began from the Murong and Fengshang King in the end of the 3th century, and ended to the Murongxi and Guangkai King at the beginning of the 5th century. Both sides had not only invading and harassing, but also peaceful coexistence. Gaogouli became the front Yan's subordinate country from the 440s. The ancient LiaoDong area was the point at fight. Murong Xianbei occupied a dominant position. They lost initiative rights and control power during latter Yan.
