A Phonetic and Grammatical Analysis of the Dai Language in Xinping

新平傣语通常指的是傣雅语,音节结构一般具有声母、韵母和声调三部分,其中声母22个,浊声母比较少,没有浊塞音;韵母63个,可分为单元音韵母、复合元音韵母和元音带辅音韵尾的韵母三类;声调有6个舒声调和4个入声调。新平傣语词主要有单纯词、合成词,分为11类,词组又分为主谓、动宾、偏正、联合、数量、介词、同位、连动、兼语、固定等词组;句子有单句和复句两大类,句子构造与汉语相似,基本语序是s-v-o型,也有主、谓、宾和定、状、补6种成分,有一定的语调和语气词。

Dai language in Xinping is Daiya language.The syllable of the language is usually composed of an initial consonant,a vowel,and the tone.There are 22 initial consonants,only a few of them are voiced,and none of them are voiced stops.In this language,there are 63 vowels that fall into three categories,single vowels,compound vowels,and vowels that end in a consonant.The language has six level tones and four entering tones.Its vocabulary is made of single words and compound words,and they fall into11 categories.Structurally,the phrases have the patterns of Subject+Predicate,Verb+Object,Modifier+Modified,Number+Quantifier,Verb+Verb,and Object/Subject.There are also appositive phrases,and set phrases.The sentence follows the structure of s-v-o.The syntactic elements are subject,predicate,object,attribute,adverbial,and complement.Intonation and mood also function in the language.
