In the past 70 years, China has not only taken a road of socialist market economy different from other countries in the world, but also initiated a market economy theory with socialist characteristics. It has successfully guided China to complete the transformation from planned economy to market economy, and avoided a series of evils brought about by capitalist market economy based on the 'inherent negativity of capital' as well. At present, the development of socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics still faces the risks of international trade protectionism, unilateralism and domestic 'Achilles heel, barrel effect and Damocles sword'. It is a practical approach for the development of socialist market economy to oppose the government’s macro-control under the guidance of market economy, and to adhere to the organic combination of socialist public ownership and market economy, government’s macro-control and market economy, and socialist common prosperity and market economy.
