Strategies for a University Striving to Be Among the Leading Ones——On the Institutional Mode of Education-Scitech-Economy Integrity

高等教育模式已经经历两次质的飞跃 :从“解读式”到“研究型” ,再从“研究型”到“创新型”。当前中国高等教育面临发展机遇与挑战 ,而教育、科技、经济一体化发展模式是一种迎接挑战的战略选择。中南大学探索教育、科技、经济一体化发展战略 ,已经积累可观的实践经验 ,已经积淀有益的理论成果。中南大学希望依靠一体化发展战略 ,迈入“创新型”大学的行列、迈入世界高水平大学的行列 ,更希望凭借这种探索及其成果 。

Central South University has been experimenting with the institutional mode of education-scitech-economy integrity, and has accumulated considerable experiences of practice and constructive achievements of theory. The higher education of China, at present, is placed before both opportunities and challenges of development, and it is necessary to make strategies to meet the challenges; and the institutional mode of education-scitech-economy integrity is one strategical choice. The institutional mode of higher education has witnessed two great leaps: the one from the interpretation-centered to the research-oriented, and the other from the research-oriented to the innovation-oriented. Central South University hopes to, with the strategy of integrity, strive to be among the 'innovation-oriented' universities and among the leading ones of the world, and participate in elevating the position of Chinese scitech.
