翻译生态学视角下的《十九大报告》英译研究

On English translation of Report of the 19th National Congress of CPC from translation ecology perspective

《十九大报告》的英译质量对塑造中国国际形象至关重要。为了评析其英译质量,首先概括该报告的翻译生态环境,即行业特征和文本特征,然后运用翻译生态学理论对其译文进行语言、文化和交际三个维度的详细分析。结果表明《十九大报告》英译质量上乘。要做好政治文献翻译,译者需综合考虑语言和非语言等因素对译语做出优化选择,照顾读者的理解能力和文化差异,以适应政治文献的翻译生态环境。

The English translation quality of Report of the 19 th National Congress of CPCis vital in shaping the positive China’s international image.To evaluate its translation quality,the ecological environment of its English translation,i.e.the industry characteristics and text features,was generalized;translation texts from the report were analyzed in detail from linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions by employing the translation ecology theory.The result indicates that the translation of this report is excellent.To render political texts well,it is suggested that translators make optimized selections in the target language considering both linguistic and non-linguistic factors,take into account the readerscomprehension and cultural differences,and adapt themselves to the ecological environment of political literature translation.
