On Hans Marchand’s Analysis of Word- formation

Word -formation is the branch of the science of language which studies the patterns on which a language forms new lexical units,i.e.words.Marchand’s study of word - formation involves three aspects of morphology,semantics,and grammar.He suggested that nominal compounds are derived from sentences only that the underlying sentences will take on different nominal forms, which provides a detailed analysis of word - formation.
