摘要
This paper centers on the depictions of male characters in Hemingway’s short story 'The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber' to examine the growth of manhood from the cowardly and despised,to the tough and courageous,which eventually endangers their existence.The strength and strong wills portrayed in such surroundings as the wilds are analyzed to prove that tough - guy heroes have been the focus of Hemingway’s creating targets.
