摘要
饮食文化是中国文化的构成部分之一,中国菜肴名称的英译,在传播中国特色菜肴的同时,也在传播中国文化。中国菜肴名称的英译应以目标语读者为中心,对于传统型菜肴名称采用拼音和音译的方法;写实型菜肴名称尽量进行写实性的翻译,让目标语读者看到菜名就知其料;写意型菜肴名称尽量采用归化的翻译策略,让目标语读者了解菜肴名称的本意。
Dietary culture is one part of Chinese culture.The English name of Chinese dishes introduces Chinese dishes to the world while disseminating Chinese culture as well.This paper concluded that English translation of Chinese dishes’names should make the target readers understand and adopt the method of Chinese pinyin or literal translation for the traditional dishes’names,reflect the material or cuisine of dishes for target readers directly for dishes’names with material-loaded,make the target readers understand what’s the meaning of the dishes’names in domestication method for the dishes’names with Chinese culture-loaded.
