The clock on the great dome of Nottingham Town Hall beganto strike the hour of seven.Always fearful of the noise,the pigeonsrose in their hundreds and fluttered over the enormous roof.A fewflew away,across the market p|ace.Two went on further,a hun-dred yards up the Derby Road,and came to rest on a nearby win-dow-still.
