摘要
专家进入市场有着不同的传统、运作模式和价值观。专家们在一个新的文化环境和市场下,必须提出一些基本的形而上学的问题,使得他们所面临的新现实变得有意义。在过去,当专家有新的困惑、不解或奇怪的情况时,形而上学的反思都曾很好地为人解惑。目前专家们所运行的情况要求他们对工作、价值观和所面临的现实重新提出基本问题,只有这些能理解基本的形而上学原理的专家才会将所需的变化和革新有效地带入研究领域。
Markets which scholars are joining have different traditions,modes of operations,and even values.Without taking sides in the debate whether universities should or should not join markets,the paper argues that disciplinary experts now,in a new cultural environment,the market,have to ask fundamental metaphysical questions to make sense of the new realities they face.Metaphysical reflections the paper argues have served well in the past when individuals found themselves in new perplexing,confusing or even curious situations.The situation where disciplinary experts now operate requires that they go back to ask fundamental questions about their work,their values and about the reality they confront.It is after all,only those who have understood the fundamental metaphysical principles that can meaningfully bring about changes and innovations when these are needed.
