Research progress of solid-solid phase transition polymer materials for thermal energy storage was reviewed. Based on the mechanism of energy storage, the solid-solid phase transition polymer materials with the function of energy storage were classified into the two catagories: the crystalline polymers with crosslinking structures and the composites with polymers as the matrices. The preparation methods, properties and the applications of these phase transition materials were summarized in detail. The prospects of further research in this field were also given.
