苏联是由多个苏维埃“民族国家”组成的国际联盟 ,也是多民族的“民族国家”的实验。在构建苏联民族国家体系的过程中 ,列宁提出的建国思想通过斯大林民族定义的具体实践付诸实施。根据苏联民族国家体系的构建实践 ,斯大林对民族定义又进行了新的阐发。

The Soviet Union was an international union composed of several Soviet 'Nation-States' as well as an experiment of multi-ethno 'Nation-States'. In the process of constructing the nation-state system of the Soviet Union, the ideology of national construction by Lenin had been implemented through the concrete practice of the definition of Nation by Stalin. On the basis of this practice, Stalin re-elucidated the definition of Nation.
